The site lies outside of the settlement boundary of the village and within a Special Landscape Feature designated in the Local Plan. We initially secured outline consent for a new dwelling based on the Council’s lack of housing supply and the benefits of re-developing a brownfield site occupied by stables and a riding arena. We then gained reserved matters approval for a new ‘country house’ which met the client’s brief of a new home designed to appear as a classically proportioned Georgian villa set in spacious grounds. We subsequently secured Building Regulations approval, with construction works anticipated to start in 2023.
